Role Summary

We are seeking a technically skilled and experienced Senior Network Deployment Engineer (L2) with hands-on Cisco networking expertise and fluency in Japanese. This role will support a large-scale network infrastructure refresh project involving the replacement of end-of-life access switches and wireless access points across approximately 30 sites in Japan.

You will be responsible for deploying Cisco Catalyst switches and Cisco Meraki wireless access points, decommissioning legacy equipment, and ensuring all replacement activities are completed efficiently and professionally. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel between customer sites by train. Weekend work and potential availability during the Christmas holiday period may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Replace end-of-life access switches with Cisco Catalyst C9300-48UN-E switches across designated customer sites.
• Deploy and replace wireless access points using Cisco Meraki CW9166I-MR devices.
• Perform hands-on network hardware installation, replacement, and deployment activities.
• Support network infrastructure refresh activities across approximately 30 customer locations.
• Collect, label, and organize decommissioned legacy switches and wireless access points.
• Return decommissioned equipment to the customer-designated on-site storage location at each site.
• Follow customer deployment procedures, technical instructions, and site-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with customer representatives and relevant technical teams to ensure smooth site deployments.
• Maintain accurate records of installed, replaced, and decommissioned equipment.
• Travel between assigned sites by train to complete scheduled deployment activities.
• Support weekend deployments and provide availability during the Christmas holiday period when required.
• Follow applicable health, safety, security, and equipment-handling procedures throughout the project.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Cisco networking and network infrastructure deployment.
• Practical experience installing, replacing, or upgrading Cisco network switches.
• Familiarity with Cisco Catalyst C9300 series switches, particularly the C9300-48UN-E model.
• Experience deploying or replacing Cisco Meraki wireless access points, preferably the CW9166I-MR model.
• Understanding of enterprise LAN infrastructure and wireless networking.
• Experience with network hardware decommissioning, asset labeling, and equipment handling.
• Ability to follow technical deployment instructions and complete site activities accurately.
• Fluency in Japanese with strong communication skills for coordinating with local customers and stakeholders.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with project teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel between multiple sites by train.
• Flexibility to work weekends and, if required, during the Christmas holiday period.
